WordPress have a inbuilt options for adding the plugins & themes, but you know ? You can install plugins using 3 different ways. In this tutorials we are going to explain all 3 ways.

First Way – Search & Install
The easiest way is “Search & Install” . If you know the plugin name so, you can install it directly from WordPress dashboard, simply login into your WordPress dashboard click on Plugin > Add New then type the plugin name on the top right search box.
For example i am searched Akismet and got the following results.
You can find more information about any plugin by clicking on “more details”. Before installing the any plugin please check that it is compatible with current version. You can “Install plugin” by clicking on “Install now” button and then click on activate.
Second Way – Upload .zip file & Install
If you have a download zip file from other sources so you can install plugin using upload option. Login into WordPress dashboard go to Plugin > Add New & click on “Upload” then click on Browse button & select you zip file and click on “Install” button. After that click on “Click on Activate Plugn” Now your plugin is already to use. That’s it.
Warning: Don’t download plugin from unknown sources, because plugin content may have a malware or viruses.
Third Way – Upload using FTP (File Transfer Protocols)
You can upload & install directly using ftp (File Transfer Protocols). This is not much usable option, sometimes upload plugin option is disabled for your WordPress blog by service providers due to some security reasons that time you can use this option.
What You Need For Third Way?
- FTP Account
- FTP Client Software “FileZilla”, “Cyberduck” , “WinSCP”
You can use any one above ftp client software, sometimes we are use “FileZilla” for uploading large files.
Create FTP Account
Simply login to you Bluehost account & click on Hosting >> cPanel >> File management >> FTP Manager, you can then set up new FTP account & also manage existing FTP account from there. Enter the required details under “Add FTP Account” and click on “Create FTP Account” button. Now your account is ready to use.
FTP Client Software
For accessing the above created FTP account you need a ftp client software. You can download some popular software from given bellow link
